No-code application design

A no-code/low-code platform built to help users design and launch web apps without needing to code from scratch.

An all-in-one platform to create and launch web applications.

The requirement, was to design the 1st MVP version of the platform. This included user research, information flow, navigation design, and detailed component interaction design (my favourite part), and finally, creating a working prototype of the no-code platform.

The Role was Product Designer - Here, I successfully designed a complex product, with multiple user logins and a ton of information. Design in this case could make or breake the company.

The Problem
How to stand out from our competitors and define our USP?

Solution
Flow > Tasks > Opportunities

A flow is first created based on the general product usage, which are then broken down into tasks. These tasks are then analysed to identify areas of opportunities.

Problem
What components to choose? Finding the optimal set with user friendly properties pannel.

Solution
A 3-Step process. Find out below.

Step 1 - Component properties.

All components were documented with a focus on clarity and consistency. Unique properties were noted, along with shared attributes like dimensions, alignment, and text styles where relevant. This made the platform easy to comprehend and easily use the editor environment.

Step 2 - User friendly Properties Pannel

Property panels were then designed for each component, with a strong focus on usability and a friendly user experience. This allowed users to seamlessly add components and set their properties. The property layout followed familiar patterns to keep things intuitive and avoid overwhelming the user.

Step 3 - Component design

The final step was designing each component’s visual style, its icon, and how it behaves in the editor after being dragged and dropped.
